This week has been a bit overwhelming. (there is a chance I have said that each week, and will continue to say so until we are done HAHA) We are getting down to the end of the session, and it just seems as though it is never going to end... or maybe I am not ready for it to end, because I feel like I need more time to get things done!
The websites that we had to review and give a small presentation over was a bit mind boggling. I think a lot of us had an issue with getting the correct website to load, however after watching others examples and talking about the assignment, I was able to better understand what it was that we were suppose to be looking for.
With the 2 videos that we watched in class, they were a little harder for me to understand due to the quality. I assume blackboard doesn't stream videos well.. Just another little hiccup in the system.. HAHA.. I am sure that in time they will get it all worked out!
Finally, we reviewed and talked about examples of instructional strategies. I will admit that I wasn't aware of all of the different teaching strategies that are available to us as teachers, that will allow us to keep our students more engaged in the classroom. I have heard of a couple of them, but wasn't ever really aware of the purpose.

This weeks class....
I am still on the fence about the whole signing in to class from home idea. Yes, I LOVE being able to stay at home, login to class, and participate, get my assignments, and move on with my day/week... but at the same time it is so hard! It could just be me... but when I am home doing class, I am also trying to make dinner, tend to the kids and their needs, as well as make sure my new born is taken care of and that I do no regret not getting to spend every minute that I have with her.... Being in class online for 3 classes 2 days a week really takes away from my family... But at the same time, if I was to take the same three classes in seat, I would probably complain just has much because I wouldn't be at home... I DON'T win at this game... YET :D
This week, I enjoyed the activities that we did in class, because they were keeping me involved in the class. My favorite activity was the emailed house activity when we each were given the same scenario, but we each acted as different individuals in the process. Very neat, and fun to interact with.
I am having a hard time getting my lesson plans all together. I do not understand how to incorporate the thinking maps and the fact pyramid.. if anyone has any suggestions please fill me in!
Thank you :D
Enjoy your weekend!!

Lesson Plans
I haven't put too much thought into what my 10 lesson plans will be. I feel that from the past, with writing lesson plans that it is a lot easier to base the lesson plans off of an integrated unit plan. This would be best for me because I can break up a unit plan into any number of days and use a variety of subjects.
Since I am planning to do my observations in the third grade, I plan to first talk with the teacher that I plan to observe and see what their current lessons are covering. I feel that I would like to stay on task with them, so that I can be on the same page. I also feel that it will help me be more comfortable with writing my own lesson plans, because I can run them by my cooperating teacher and ask her to let me know if she thinks that I would be creating a useful lesson plan for her class.
However, I could surprise myself and decide to do it all on my own and just choose the one that I feel is the best to present to her class and ask the cooperating teacher to then grade me herself and let me know what she thinks of my ability to write a lesson plan for her class and if she thinks that I would be successful with writing lesson plans for a third grade classroom.
Any constructive criticism I can get, I will take.

Week 1- Take Away Chapter 1-3
Hello everyone!
WHOA has this last few days/week been a crazy one for me!
I have officially become a mother to my beautiful little girl, Harper Leigh Carnal! I could not be more excited about this new adventure, but with having her on Monday morning, and getting home today 11/4/2015 at about 3:00 and then trying to get everything together to be in 2classes tonight is about to make me crazy.
First, I will apologize for anything that I may type that may not make sense or be spelt correctly, I and my brain are complete mush right now!!
However, after reading through the first section of the text I have been able to learn more in-depth information about how to incorporate an appreciation for reading in my own classroom. I am excited to get caught up with the rest of the reading and to be able to share my thoughts/ideas/concerns/key takeaways, from each reading.
I will admit, at first when we were making the blogs, I wasn't so sure about them. However, now being in the crazy life that I am now in, with being a mommy to a newborn, a stepmother, a wife, a student, and a full time employee, I have found a new appreciation for these blogs. Being able to read through each students/participants blog really gives me a tool to turn to when I am not understanding what I read.
